Apple Pie Ingredients:

  • Apples - Any baked apple works great in this recipe. (I used Granny Smith)
  • Crescent rolls
  • ghee
  • Brown sugar

How to make apple pies:

Any baked apple will work great. My favorite is the Granny Smith because I love the acidity balanced with the sugar.

  • Peel the apple and cut it into six pieces. Then cut out the core areas.

  • In a medium bowl, mix the butter, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract together.

  • Roll out the crescent dough. Spread the butter mixture over it (divide between the two packages).

  • Roll a piece of apple into each crescent moon roll.

  • Grease a pie pan with a little butter and add the prepared pieces to the pan.

  • If you have any leftover butter mixture, spread it over the surface of the dumplings once in the pan.

  • Drizzle heavy whipping cream over the top, aiming to smooth out cracks so the liquid gets under the dumplings.

  • Bake at 350°F for 28-30 minutes. Cover pan with aluminum foil for 15 minutes of baking.

  • If your apples are on the smaller side, you may need three apples instead of two for this recipe.
  • Place the pie pan on a large baking sheet before placing it in the oven to catch any juices that might come out while baking.
