Absolutely an outdoor lover's paradise, Cradle Mountain is full of epic hikes to explore from the super challenging to those that are perfect for beginners. Whatever your fitness level, venture through the wilderness of Cradle Mountain and make some memories that will last a lifetime.
1. Marion Observatory
Difficulty: Medium-Hard (some level of hiking experience required)
Distance: 10 km return
Duration: 3-4 hours
If you're looking for a Cradle Mountain hike that will take your breath away, look no further than Marion's Lookout. Less challenging than some of the other Cradle Mountain hikes on this list, Marion's Lookout offers an epic view across the surrounding mountain peaks and sparkling Dove Lake. While walking is perfect for any season, strolling the trail in summer provides a great view of blooming flowers, making it the most popular time to go.
However, winters are also a great time to visit Cradle Mountain as there is a dusting of snow atop the mountain peaks ensuring that the view from the top is just as magical as you could hope. This walk is mostly very manageable, but there are some sections of the walk that are more challenging than others, so remember to be careful, especially in the winter months when the ground is uneven and slippery.

We don't know about you but when we hear the phrase "enchanted walk" we expect to wander through a densely covered forest full of moss-covered trees and bubbling coves and the enchanted trail at Cradle Mountain does not disappoint. Filled with colorful fungi and woodland creatures (keep your eyes peeled for the wombat), this walk is suitable for all ages and fitness levels and is guaranteed to be completely captivating.
Featuring towering myrtle beeches and delicate pine trees, as well as a network of adorable tunnels for little ones to crawl through, this trail is nothing short of magical, and while it doesn't have an epic view, it's still one of the must-do trails in this area.

One of Cradle Mountain's most scenic walks, the Dove Lake Walk is perfect for those who want to take in different views but don't want to take multiple trails. It takes you to the scenic Glacier Rock and then down to the water's edge, glimpse of the honeymoon islands as you listen to the gentle sounds of water and the communication of birds.
But the Dove Lake Walk doesn't stop there. Make your way through the Ballroom Forest (which looks as big as it really is), and walk under a canopy of sky-high trees until you reach the famous boathouse. Located on the lake front, the Boatshed was built in 1940 by the first ranger stationed at Cradle Mountain, and has remained an interesting part of this area's history today and is well worth a visit.

Duration: 1-2 hours
While you may have to do some steep climbs to reach the top of Hansons Peak, you won't regret the effort and energy you put in once you set your eyes on the stunning views of Cradle Mountain sprawling below you. You won't even have to fight other travelers doing the same thing you do either because this walk is underrated and not visited frequently (we have no idea why).
Make sure you're fully prepared for the steep but short climb with comfortable hiking boots, energy-packed snacks ready to go, and a reusable drink bottle full of cold water on hand because chances are, you'll need to stop at least once or twice to "take a great photo." " (Catch your breath). Don't let that put you off because this trail has days, weeks, and fortnight views too, so keep an eye out for Twisted Lakes and Marion's Lookout.

We'll start by saying this, if you have a fear of heights, you can also stop reading now because the Cradle Mountain Summit walk is not for you. While the walk initially starts out reasonable, it quickly gets more challenging as you go higher with some very steep sections that require some serious rock climbing skills.
But the higher you go up, the more amazing the view, and the view from the top of Cradle Mountain is a feast for the eyes. With views of dozens of lakes and smaller mountain peaks, this walk is guaranteed to be a highlight of your trip and will take up most of your camera roll.
