For years in comic books, and even in comic form, Harley Quinn Poison Ivy had a couple. But the big screen version of Harley, he portrays Margot RobbieHe has only been romantically linked to the Joker. A movie version of Harley and Ivy has been much requested by fans for a long time, but it hasn't quite come to anything after three movies and counting (suicide squadAnd the wild birdsAnd the Suicide Squad).
According to Ruby herself, it's not that she's not interested. I told ComicBook.com that she had been "paying for it for years" with no luck. She added, "I can't tell you how hard I've been pushing for it. I want it too." When asked if she had an actress in mind to play Ivy, she replied, "Honestly, when I fantasize, I always fantasize as Poison Ivy in the comics. I don't really fancy an actress doing that, but I agree, that would be good."
If a Harley and Ivy movie is ever going to happen, the time would probably be right now, as there's a brand new system in charge of Capital studios. James Gunn and Peter Safran were recently named co-CEOs of the division within Warner Bros. Pictures. Jan directed one of Robbie's three films as Harley (Suicide Squad), and is assumed to have a good relationship with her and personal intimacy. If he can't get this movie off the ground, it's doubtful anyone can.
Meanwhile, the upcoming DC Studios movie, Shazam! Wrath of the Godsis set to open in theaters on March 17, 2023.
