In January 1997, Petty and the band settled into the Fillmore, eager to let loose and give audiences a good time. The series of shows (of which six were recorded) saw Petty perform his songs but also a wide range of cover songs by acts such as The rolling stonesThe FromAnd the Little RichardAnd the JJ CalAnd the Bob DylanAnd the Grateful dead and much more. There have also been guest appearances by the likes Roger McGinn and John Lee Hooker. (Full track listing can be viewed over here.)

"We all feel like this could be the pinnacle of our time together as a group," Petty said at one show. "It will be difficult to get us out of this stage tonight."

"Playing the Fillmore in 1997 for a month was one of my favorite experiences as a musician in my entire life," guitarist Mike Campbell said in a previous press release. The band was on fire and we changed the set menu every night. The room and crowd were soulful [and] We have to play with some great guests. I will always remember those nights with joy and inspiration.”
