Axl Rose He responded after a fan claimed she hit his microphone during one of the recent days Guns not flowers musical party.
A woman named Rebecca Howe attended the GNR show in Adelaide, Australia on November 29. At the conclusion of the show, Rose threw his microphone into the crowd. Howe claims she hit her in the face and caused extensive damage.
“He took a bow and then fired the mic into the crowd…then banged right on the bridge of my nose,” Howe said. Adelaide Advertiser. My mind went, 'Oh my God, my face cringed. "
Howe, who was said to be in shock and out of breath, was assisted by an off-duty police officer. In photos posted to social media (see below), she appears to have a damaged nose and noticeably black eyes.
"What if it's a few inches to the right or left?" Howe weighted. “I could have lost my eyes… What if you had hit me in the mouth and broken my teeth?… If you had turned my head and had hit me in the temple, you could have killed me.”
In response to Howe's claim, Rose posted a lengthy message on social media.
"It has come to my attention that a fan may have been hurt at our show in Adelaide, Australia, and may have been hit by the microphone at the end of the show when I traditionally throw the microphone at the fans," the GNR president wrote. "If that's true, then we obviously don't want anyone to get hurt or anyone hurt in some way anywhere on our shows."
The rocker also noted that "for more than 30 years" mic tossing has been "a well-known part of our performance end."
Rose continued, "Regardless, in the interest of public safety from now on, we will refrain from throwing a microphone or anything at our fans during or during our performances."
This isn't the first time a "Down Under" fan has claimed he was injured by one of Rose's flying microphones. In 2013, a man was struck in the mouth with a microphone during a Guns N' Roses performance in Perth, resulting in a $5,000 dental fee.
