Exodus travels in Chile

Exodus travels fumble travel

We joined our trusted local travel expert Alex in Santiago Chile for 12 days exploring the country's most iconic sights. Exodus Travels tour allows you to discover many of the best attractions in a destination, making it a true trip of a lifetime. Have you always wanted to see Patagonia? You will see. Ever wanted to set foot in the Atacama Desert? You will do it! Are you looking for amazing wildlife experiences? They got that too. We did it all on our Chile tour.

The Exodus Tour was divided into four parts. The metropolitan area of Santiago de Chile and Valparaiso, the Atacama Desert, the Lake District, and Patagonia in Chile.

On the first official day of the trip, we joined Alex for a day tour of Santiago, where he took us to the best viewpoint and stopped at all the major tourist attractions in the old city. Staying in the modern downtown area, we had the best of both worlds seeing it all.

1 stop - Santiago and Valparaiso

Group travel with exodus flights

When taking an Exodus Travels tour, we recommend arriving a day or two early to relax and sightsee. Dave and I enjoyed a couple of days in town before the rest of our group arrived and felt relaxed and ready to join the group. We quickly learned that once the trip began, we were on a non-stop itinerary traveling from one amazing adventure to the next.

Stop 2 - Atacama Desert

Exodus Atacama Desert travels

Our tour included 5 trips around Chile with our first taking us to the Atacama Desert. We stayed in the heart of San Pedro de Atacama spending three days seeing the best attractions. This massive salt lake is one of the best places to visit in Chile with incredible natural attractions including El Tatio Geysers, Miscanti Lagoon, Miñiques Lagoon, and the flamingos of Chaxa Lake.

Station 3 - Buhaira District

Exodus travels unique journeys

Then another connecting flight through Santiago to explore the Lake District of Chile where we stayed in the charming city of Puerto Varas.

We climbed Osorno Volcano, took a boat trip on Lago Todos, and saw the thundering Petroho Falls. It was also where we had the best llama encounter with the llama spreading out with the snow covered volcano creating a beautiful scene.

We had free evenings to enjoy the freshest seafood in the area and to peruse the shops of Puerto Varas. Our hotel was in the city center which gave us the opportunity to walk along the waterfront and take advantage of the restaurants and nightlife.

Stop 4 - Stop Patagonia

The last quarter of our trip took us to the Resistance Square in Chile, Patagonia. We traveled to the very south of the country and made our way to Torres del Paine National Park for three days full of fun and adventure.

Our skilled driver spotted the elusive Puma on day one. These animals are a rare sight in Torres del Paine, but we did see a group of three pumas running right by the road. That moment set the tone for an unforgettable trip to Patagonia.

We saw the impressive trumpets of Torres del Paine and the equally impressive Torres del Paine Massif. Not missing a beat, we visited the Southern Patagonian Icefield and took a raft to Gray Glacier to get up close and personal views of its massive wall.

Then it was on to a beautiful waterfall and the old Melodun Cave. There was a perfect blend of nature and history.

While staying right outside the park on a lake, we had a great view of the mountains during sunset and slept like babies in private cabins. This was truly our bucket list adventure.

Bonding with the group

Throughout our two-week adventure, we had opportunities for group meals at fancy restaurants, cocktails with a view, and breakfasts in nature. There were many unique experiences we shared together that will be etched in our memories for years to come.
