Mac Critter, signed by the rapper Gucci maneimprint 1017 Records, has been formally charged with first degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting incident in December 2022.
According to a report from Fox 13 On Tuesday (January 3), MacCreter (real name Daniel Bates) is one of four men involved in the December 21 North Memphis shooting. After a court hearing, Crater's attorney told the outlet that he was surprised that his client did not receive the bond.
"I thought my client was going to get a bond," he said. It is alleged, in the affidavit, that he was there but not the shooter. Matt [fellow suspect] Gary Taylor, who was granted bail, was the alleged shooter. I was optimistic we would get a bond today but we haven't."
Marquith Taylor was found dead at the scene after being shot "multiple times" by four men in an SUV, according to a witness. The four men approached him and drew their weapons after summoning him to their car, and he was then allegedly shot and killed by teammate Gary "Lil' Gary" Taylor.
All suspects will remain behind bars and are due back in court on January 10.
