In the middle of Miley's second annual New Year's Eve party — which Cyrus co-hosted this year with Dolly Parton and aired live on NBC — the star announced her new single, "Flowers." The song will arrive on January 3rd. 13.

This announcement came on the heels of posters posted in various cities that read: New Year New Miley. NYE tease was first accompanied online by a 17 second clip Flirting music video featuring Cyrus in a metallic gold outfit and shades running upwards. Later in the special, A.J second teaser The clip — this one, which clocks in at 13 seconds — showed Cyrus in a bathing suit strutting through sprinklers.
Not only did Cyrus celebrate New York City, but she also celebrated the upcoming "New Miley" era with a handful of special guests throughout the special including David Byrne, Lato, Sia, Ray Sremmurd, Fletcher and others. She and Barton naturally rounded off the night and ushered in the new year with a stellar medley of "Wrecking Ball" and "I Will Always Love You."
As for what's to come... Cyrus fired a countdown on her site (currently teasing something in about four days) with more announcements coming this week.
