The 2023 Critics' Choice Awards Were Full of Gemstone Menswear (and Coldstone)

Three weeks into 2023, award season has suddenly begun Everywhere And All at once. The 2023 Critics' Choice Awards took place in Los Angeles on Sunday, just five days after the annual Golden Globes kicked off on Tuesday's Red Race, and the attendees who didn't. The COVID test result is positive a hit Step and repeat Cold Stone Creamery branded.

If The Globes was the first menswear screening of the yearthen Critics' Choice was all about the throwbacks.

We still see plenty of suits in any color other than black: Seth Rogen and Jeremy Allen White took over the mantle from Jeremy Strong Brown book, Brian Tyree Henry and Johnny Knoxville (!) went for a full ice cream paint job, and Tyler James Williams and Andrew Garfield opted for funky neutrals. There was a near absence of standard ties, with many opting for the vulgar tie or the always generic "air tie". For every set of lace-up Oxfords made for staying at home, there was a pair of loafers ready to replace them.

There were some actual award season highlights from the show, too: Everything is everywhere at once It won Best Picture, as well as its star, Ke Huy Quanwho won Best Supporting Actor while wearing a premium burgundy Armani velvet jacket; Brendan Fraser He made a big speech after taking home the Best Actor award for his performance in Darren Aronofsky. Whale:"I was in the wild, and I probably should have left a trail of bread crumbs, but you found me," he said to Aronofsky, before continuing: "If you, like a man like Charlie, who you played in this movie, are in any way grappling with obesity, or feel like you're in Dark sea, I want you to know that if I am you too, you can have the strength to just get back on your feet and go into the light. Good things will happen."
