The sequel to the 1996 disaster saga Cycloneappropriately titled Tornadoesits release date has been announced by Universal.
diverse It is reported that Universal has identified Tornadoes for a release date of July 19, 2024, and was released against Transformers: A New Generation That day and Marvel Studios Lightning after a week. Lee Isaac Chung is said to be looking forward to directing Tornadoeswhile Mark L. Smith is set to write the screenplay.
Directed by Jan de Bont, the first installment followed storm chaser Bill Harding and Dr. Joanne Harding, who is in the midst of finalizing their divorce. Reunited during a severe tornado outbreak in Oklahoma, the pair are able to test their very own weather tracking device that should improve turnaround times on tornado warnings.
The film was a critical and commercial success, with a worldwide gross of over $495 million at the box office. It also starred Cary Elwes, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Alan Ruck, Todd Field, and more.
