The full letter can be found below:

gratitude. This is the only word that comes to mind in your support of our work on the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. I am full of it.

Thank you. Thanks to the people who bought their tickets early and camped out for the opening weekend. Thank you to those of you who brought out your families - young and old. To those who have organized youth performances and after parties, who have bought theaters for societies and friends. To all of you who have watched many times, encourage others to check it out.

Our movie is over two and a half hours long, so thanks for taking those bathroom breaks. Our movie has 6 languages spoken. Thank you for carrying the translation. Our film deals with the inescapable human feelings of grief. Thank you for opening up about the emotional journey of this movie. We made something to honor our friend, who was a giant in our industry, and we also made something to enjoy in a theater setting with friends, family, and strangers.

Something to quote and discuss. It was moot. Something that makes people feel physically and emotionally seen.

This medium would not exist without an audience, and I thank you for giving me a professional purpose and emotional outlet. I look forward to bringing you more stories in the future.

sincerely,

Ryan Coogler
