Tony Yayo describes Brass as a supporter of Wycliffe's opponent

Tony Yayo Fugees rapper thought Brass "Hate" to support a candidate he was running against Wyclef Jean for President of Haiti in 2010. However, he is not really given the full context of the scenario.

In a recent interview with rapper G-Unit with Vlad TV, the topic of Haiti is brought up, eventually prompting Vlad to mention Brass' 2010 endorsement of Michel Martelly for the country's president. What Vlad doesn't mention is that the endorsement happened before Clef decided to run - prompting Yayo to speak up for him.

"That's a bit of hate right there, dammit," Yayo said. "If we were in the same group together, how would you go with the other guy? That sounds like some hating shit to me. The Fugees were definitely a classic group. But you know, it was always about Lauren and Cliff. So Brass, they took care of you, so the shit is on." Clef like this is crazy."

In the video, Vlad included a clip from a previous interview he had with Brass where he explained the discrepancy. It is unclear why the site owner does not mention Yayo. “At the time, people thought I was going up against Wycliffe when I was supporting Michel Martelly. I wasn't going up against Wycliffe,” Brass explains in the old clip. "We didn't know he had plans to run."

The New Jersey resident did not meet the qualifications, due to Haitian election law which states that any candidate must have been a resident of the country for five consecutive years.

During an interview with UK Show Good morning Britain Earlier this year, Wycliffe ruled out any plans to try to run again.
