If kids are our future, the metal scene that lies ahead looks really bright. Especially with kids learning the ropes through O'Keefe Music Foundation. After a year of great covers, the group has given us another gift before 2022 rolls out: a cover slipknot "The Heretic's Anthem".
This performance once again showcases the super talented 10-year-old Zoë Franziska who has appeared in several other OMF videos lately, including covers of Korn songs. "Someone someone" And the "stranger on a leash" (which has since garnered four million views).
In this latest post, Zoe once again represented her band du jour in a Korn shirt but only set her focus on Slipknot to deliver the hair, showing off her heartfelt growl that can only make you hope the company works out her contract now.
The video begins with a precocious child in pigtails and a plaid dress leading a whispering countdown at the beginning of the song, which hails from 2001's Slipknot album Yes , Then chaos ensues when the squad of 10 in depth unleashes a sonic assault.
While the kids are all extremely talented (12-year-old Xander Markewich wrote a guitar solo for the performance and Brianna Montante recorded the beats with a chainsaw) seeing the rhythm section get creative swinging baseball bats in wheelbarrows and really metal drums is the treat.
Says the group, "Because of limited funds, OMF couldn't afford to book a professional recording studio. So here's proof that you can record a magical song in your very own garage." Children's fans can donate to the music education organization over hereensuring that we will have more gems like this in the future.
The comments section on the YouTube page shows that there is no shortage of OMF believers. "I'm ordering Zoe's thumbnail to be turned into a T-shirt! I'm going to buy 20 of them and wear them every day to work!!" says one person. "It sounds more metallic than a lot of the stuff I hear coming out of adult men these days," says another.
