While the 2003 comedy hit Bruce the Ripper Finally getting a sequel, the writers behind the original movie had something else in mind entirely for what the future of the series was going to hold.

In a recent interview with CVAnd Steve Koren and Mark O'Keefe revealed their idea for professor, the unmade sequel that would have seen Jim Carrey's Bruce obtain the powers of Satan instead of God. According to the pair, they pitched the sequel to producer Michael Bostick on the night of the original film's premiere, but it simply never worked out.
"[Jim Carrey’s] Director and he wants to do professorCorinne said. "We went in and pitched it, but it never worked because it happened later... It would have been another giant movie, and I don't think they wanted to do that. It didn't work for some reason, but a lot of people loved it, including Jim."
Unlike the original movie, professor It would have seen Bruce examining the darker side of the powers that be after the death of his girlfriend (played by Jennifer Aniston). According to Coren, it "came from a serious place" but could have been written "in a very friendly way".
"You tend to lose your faith when the world seems unfair, and that's what led to it," Coren said. "It came from a serious place, but we're going to write it in a very friendly way. We definitely didn't want to depress people. So I think that's a scare." The couple went so far in the movie, revealing that Bruce was going to use his demonic powers to bring Aniston back from the dead, and Carrey even suggested she come back as a zombie first.

"It was basically going to be Job's trials," O'Keefe added. “The world hasn't gone his way since he was God. Everything was great for a while; he was married and it all fell apart. He would question everything again and then he got a different way of working things out.”
Of course, instead of professorthe sequel Evan Almighty It ended in 2007. The follow-up focused on Evan Steve Carell, who appeared in the original movie. Unfortunately for those behind it, Evan Almighty It was considered a failure by almost every measure and did not quite achieve the success of its predecessor.
