slipknot They've been around for the better part of their career on a record label, constantly releasing albums, but keeping track of their contract The end so farpercussionist Sean "The Clown" Crahan It was recently suggested that the band might forgo albums in favor of singles moving forward. This line of questioning was then brought up with Slipknot Commander Corey Taylor At a recent Monster-Mania Con Q&A session.
A few weeks ago, jester Talk to NME, saying, "I always thought, 'What would it be like if Slipknot were big enough that we didn't carry albums? '" Let's say the clown can convince you, "Hey, instead of waiting two years for 12 songs, I'm going to give you one song a month." So in effect, I'm taking a year off for the same thing.
The percussionist explained that singles could still work as a full release, come with their own artwork, and would still be priced less than the single. In addition, it also opens doors for collaborations with other artists. "The philosophy is for fans to get caught up in thinking, rather than just heavy metal, record labels, video channels, radio... But, it's the love of music — you love us as artists, you love our band, you know we have our own filter... look what we can Do when we are free to dip our paintbrushes anywhere.”
When asked about the clown's comments at Monster-Mania Con, Taylor (as written by chat and sharing it via the Rock N' Roll Experience video below), "It's kinda hard to find nine people on the same page anymore, especially since we're old and experienced. But the cool thing is we're all still excited about good ideas."
It is to explain, "[Guitarists] Jim [Root] and mike [Thomson] They are good at writing music. Joker and I do really well with things together, VMan [bassist Alessandro Venturella] It is actually really good. We've done so much in our career that at this point we can just sit back and do the math. I mean, I have a good idea for a double concept record with a whole story to go with it that I'd love to do. But the cool thing is we kind of set up our history so whatever comes next will naturally be something we want to do. So whether it's just going to some psycho tunes and just having fun doing it or we go in and do a very detailed plan, like a story or something, either way it's going to be something we really enjoy. "
He went on to add, "I'm all for the group, you know? At this point we've released a lot of music and we're off our label now, so the sky's the limit; we can kind of do whatever we want. So whatever we're going to do next is going to be something we're all dealing with at the same time." page, which is something you can't always say."
While Slipknot's future remains a blank slate, their present includes promoting what has been recently released The end so far album.
