Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special It's about 45 minutes long, and it looks like it was written in that long. It's a cute and silly tribute to the spirit of Christmas starring a few quirky Marvel characters. This is it. But oddly enough, this holiday special he is Not illogical. In its own way, it is somewhat important for the future Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. Although it may not be memorable, it is a must-watch marvel Fans who want to prepare for the future Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
That's because it makes some drastic changes to the status quo for a few characters, and even the Guardians team as a whole. (I'll do my best not to spoil how). Some of these developments have already happened before the special game begins, with the Guardians returning at Knowhere, the outpost in space constructed from the dead head of a Celestial that appeared in the first Guardians Movie. As Christmas approaches, Peter "Star Lord" Quill (Chris Pratt) continues his grief over the loss of Gamora, who died in Avengers: Infinity War. Drax's teammates (Dave Bautista) and Mantis (Boom Klementieff) decides to cheer him up by finding him the perfect Christmas gift.
Since Mantis and Drax are eccentric aliens, they decide what Peter would really like for the holiday Kevin Bacon (As himself), the "hero" of Earth that Star-Lord talks about so much. And because Mantis and Drax are eccentric aliens with no concept of personality, they seem to have no qualms about kidnapping this sentient being and giving it as a gift to their dear friend. And so they head to Earth in search of Kevin Bacon, with stops along the way at Grauman's Chinese Theater and Hollywood Nightclub. (The other Sentinels—Nebula's Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper's Rocket, Groot Vin Diesel, and Sean Gunn's Craglin—appear briefly in primarily cameo roles).
Writer/Director James Gunn He provides at least some big laughs, often by watching Christmas customs through the watchmen's bewildered, bewildered points of view. And, like many Christmas TV specials over the years, there are a number of fun musical numbers performed by the Old 97s band. And... that's all this show is for. Bautista and Klementieff, the two real stars of the special, seem to be having a lot of fun, but their performances are so over the top that they hardly feel consistent with the former. Guardians Movies. (They both shout out at least 30 percent of their dialogue at full volume.)
Obviously, no one considered this thing too special, and neither should the viewer. However, by slipping around the fringes of this very slim story, there are revelations about the Guardians that will surely pay off in key ways in the future. Guardians Vol. 3. And if you haven't seen this holiday special, you will probably be a little confused when they are mentioned there. Honestly, their inclusion is kind of confusing over here. Some of the changes to the team and characters were realistically dropped into the dialogue, and I wondered if they were previously established in other Marvel films and shows and had forgotten about them until now.
Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special It certainly isn't a disaster or embarrassment like the notorious one Star Wars Holiday Special That certainly provided some quirky inspiration for this Marvel production. But it is so insignificant that one feels how little time or effort has been put into it. And in fact, I just found it an interview where James Gunn He openly admits that he wrote the entire script in "a few hours". This does not surprise me at all.
