The Seattle Seahawks' Blue Thunder drums could use a little "spectrum replay," and they've got it in the form of anthrax And Tiger Celebration drummer Charlie Pennantwho called up Lumen Field to perform with the crew in the Seahawks' home game against the Los Angeles Rams this weekend.
The drum line has become a major part of entertainment for Seattle's 12th Man fans, and Benante's addition this weekend has found the drum line digging into some of Benante's repertoire. As many fans know, Charlie is currently drumming as part of a Pantera celebration, so they started with a bit of "Walk," a swinging Pantera classic, before digging through Anthrax's catalog to tap out one of their biggest hits, "Indians."
The Seattle Seahawks Blue Thunder Drumline were formed in 2004, and they've performed all over the stadium for the past 19 years, both during and after games.
Benante attended the match with his longtime girlfriend, Carla Harvey from Children's butcherand both shared videos, photos, and comments about the experience.
“I had a great experience playing with @seahawksbluethunderdrumline - thanks everyone for making it happen,” Benanti said, adding: “keithrousu, you're a drummer and you'll get it. You put together a great drumline, I had fun hanging out and talking to everyone and even learned a trick or 2. They wanted to play Indians walk and I was more than happy to play with them. #seattle rain came but we got through it and the Seahawks won. Thank you @brando.wright and @hard89 for making this happen #football #grunge #touchdown #fandom #gimmetheballpanteraofficialanthrax thanks @carlaharvey for the video."
Harvey added, “I attended my first NFL game today (true story) only to see @charbenante sitting down with a @seahawks drum line but boy did I scream with happiness when a real hawk came flying out of the tunnel to start the game. Now, get it! That was a blast! #seahawks# SundayFunday.”
