Dave Bautista isn't sure he wants Drax to be his legacy

Dave Bautista He doesn't really play shy about wanting to move on from his role as Drax Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy a series. Bautista has played Drax six times, including the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 That Bautista has already hinted strongly would be his farewell to the character.

And that was before his last profile on GQ. Speaking about his career from wrestling to Hollywood, Bautista said he was "grateful" for Drax, but also spoke ambivalently about the character as well while saying there was a "relaxation" to do with Marvel. He said:

I am so grateful to Drax. And you love it. But there is relief [that it’s over]. It wasn't all fun. It was difficult to play this role. The makeup process was hitting me. And I don't know if I want Drax to be my legacy — it's a silly performance, and I want to do more dramatic stuff.

Going on to become one of the biggest names in WWE, Drax was Bautista's breakthrough movie role, showing his versatility as not only an action hero but a deadpan comedic presence. But all this artificial makeup has to be Is that true It sucks to deal with, and Bautista, 53, has also spoken in the past about how much work it goes into maintaining a superstar physique at his age, too.

Whether Bautista wants Drax to be his legacy or not, it will likely be one of the roles he remembers. But he has already shown that he can do other things. Just in the past few years, he has appeared in various movies like stopperAnd Army of the deadAnd Duneand now glass onion. He will next appear in the movie M. Night Shyamalan Ring in the cabinHe plays a man who claims to have received a prophetic vision that calls him to do something monstrous to prevent the end of the world.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 It's set to open in theaters on May 5, 2023. Given these comments, I think a lot of fans are going to expect that poor old Drax won't make it out of this movie alive.
