"Don't Tell Me" is the album's second single. It's the only song among the batch of new songs, and it's also the first Disturbed song ever to feature contributions from another singer, such as heart's Ann Wilson He appears on it with Draiman.
Draiman praised Wilson: "She's the best, period." Loudwyer Nights Hosted by Tony Gonzalez. “No one, I think, ever lived that had the kind of voice that Anne did. She's the most powerful rock singer I can ever remember, and I've always been a huge fan of her work and a huge heartthrob in general.”
It appears Wilson was already a fan of Disturbed's cover of "The Sound of Silence," but Draiman's first contact with the singer was when he and Bruce Dickinson They named her after their favorite singer on Twitter. Wilson thanked both of them, and Draiman reached out to her directly and suggested they work together one day.
When the Disturbed album "Don't Tell Me" was initially recorded, Draiman sang over the entire track, then listened again and realized Wilson belonged to her.
"I sent her the song, and she loved it," he recalled, adding that they went into the studio together to work on it. "It's been such a rewarding, magical experience. She still has the chops for days, she's crazy, and her ability...our voices sound beautiful together. It's one of my favorite songs I've ever written, so I have pretty high hopes for that."
