Many consider Quentin Tarantino Django Unchained One of the best contemporary westerns in recent memory. It features Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, and Samuel L. The final cut of the film follows a complex development cycle, with rewrites, extensive casting, and dealings with the much-lauded Weinstein Company.
In our latest entry to the WTF Happened series for this movie, we'll be back in 2007, when Tarantino was busy writing a book on Sergio Corbucci and was inspired to explore America during the prequel to the Civil War in the Deep South.
