James Gunn Publicly respond to a surprising article in Hollywood Reporter That claims huge changes are coming to Capital Movie Universe - including cancellation Wonder Woman 3 And maybe reverse plans to make new ones Superman movies with extension Henry Cavill — in a lengthy series of tweets.
Gunn said THR Essay "Some are true, some are half true, some are not true, and some we have yet to decide whether or not they are true."
He did not specify which parts were true, incorrect, or might be true.
In a series of tweets, Jean explained that there will be an "inevitable transition period as we transition to coherent storytelling across film, television, animation, and games" but that he took the position as co-executive director at DC Studios because "the drawbacks of that transition period are dwarfed by the creative possibilities and opportunity to build On what has worked in the capital so far and to help correct what has not worked.”
It seems like DC fans should be prepared for at least a year as old projects trickle in where things don't fit together perfectly and cohesively - or when it's not entirely clear how the individual films connect in a big picture way, if at all. Jan and co-CEO Peter Safran have just started working at DC Studios. It would be years before anything they put into production saw the light of day.
Meanwhile, there are a whole bunch of movies that are already being made that have nothing to do with it - like Sparkle And the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom- Which might make things even more confusing. (THRA report, for example, claimed that Henry Cavill shot a cameo Sparkle He may or may not be included in the movie, because Cavill may or may not be making new Superman movies again after all.)
Jean added, "We know we're not going to make everyone happy every step of the way, but we can promise that everything we do is done in service of the story and in service of the DC characters we know you cherish and we cherish our entire lives."
