According to a report published The Daily Beast Earlier this month, friends of Patrick Xavier Clarke were shocked to hear that the promoter was arrested and charged with TakeOff murder. Houston rapper Jamali claimed that Clarke was known and loved in his hometown and also ran a popular strip club called The Flame HTX.
Jamali also said that Clark never came across as a violent person, and if he was involved in the shooting that night, it must have been an accident. "You can see from everyone's reactions that we are shocked that this is not the type of person [Clark] It is,” Jamali said The Daily Beast. "It was about commerce, not violence."
Another of his friends said, "I know him. He doesn't like it. I honestly feel like they got the wrong guy. He doesn't get angry or hostile. He's very kind and thoughtful. That's all I have to say. I feel like he's being framed."
Clark, known locally in Houston as DJ Pat, charged with first degree murder on December 1 A $2 million bond is being held. He reportedly tried to flee to Mexico before he was arrested.
A motion made during a bail hearing stated that Clark I applied for an urgent passport Shortly after TakeOff passed away on November 1st. He was said to have submitted an itinerary to Mexico to justify the hasty request. Houston prosecutors used this information and the arrest record—which states that Clark was in possession of a large amount of cash when he was arrested—to claim in court as a flight risk.
Clark was also active on Twitter days after the shooting. “God brought me that he was with me,” he wrote on tweets from his alleged Twitter profile that was posted on November 2, the day after the TakeOff killing.
Another tweet posted on November 8 called Clark a heartless victim as a result of people not showing him love.
"I've been hurt so many times it's hard for me to feel love," Clarke tweeted before she shared. "I'm not perfect, I'm tough tho" the next day.

Clarke's attorney, Letitia Quinones, told reporters about the Mexico trip that her client is "nervous and he's worried" because "he's being accused of something he thinks he's innocent of, so how can anyone do in that kind of circumstance?"
The first arrest of the TakeOff shooting took place last month when 16-year-old rapper Lil' Cam was arrested in Houston on November 22. Accused of a felony possession of an illegal weapon.
Prosecutors alleged that surveillance footage showed Lil' Cam carrying a gun at the crime scene, but the prosecutor's office did not charge him with firing the fatal shot.
