All Indiana Joness It should be an exciting ride out of the gate...and apparently, the best way to achieve that for the upcoming fifth film was to digitally de-age Harrison Ford. The team behind the latest entry in the franchise has been struggling to figure out what the next iconic opening sequence will be, and after much deliberation, they've figured out their own angle. Rumors of Harrison Ford dying out of age swirled after a photo of the actor wearing motion capture points on his face, but a recent report from empire has officially confirmed it. Of course, this type of technology is not without its critics. Not many people were even sure if Ford would reprise the role in the first place, let alone go to those kinds of lengths for production.
Die-hard fans of the franchise were a bit skeptical of the new entry since it's the first without him Steven Spielberg in the director's chair. The technology itself is really innovative. It's a new form of software that runs through old scans of footage featuring Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones and then matches them up with footage shot specifically for the new sequels being filmed. We'll just have to wait and see what it actually looks like, but Ford was totally convinced. He said, "This is the first time I've seen it where I believe in it. It's a little scary. I don't think I even want to know how it works, but it works. Don't make me want to be young. I'm glad I earned my age."
