Fight Club, David Fincher, Courtney Love, Brad Pitt, Kurt Cobain

David Fincher fight club is an exceptional 1999 cinematic gem. The film spoke to a generation of disaffected youth who grew up listening to Rage Against the Machine and vandalizing road signs to enrage "the man." Bleak, visually ambiguous, and acting like a religion to seemingly disenfranchised males, one of the film's leading characters is Marla Helena Bonham Carter, who intrigues narrator and protagonist Edward Norton. Before Carter joined the cast, Fincher considered Janine Garofalo, Winona Ryder, W Courtney Love for the required role. Love was dating Norton at the time and was eager to play the part. However, according to Love, she was fired from the film after Norton co-starred, Brad Pittshe was crossed from the cast list.

Speaking with Marc Maron on The Actor's Podcast, WTF with Marc MaronLove said Pete kicked her out fight club After Hole's First Lady declined his offer to play Kurt Cobain in a biopic about his life. According to Love, Pete came up with the idea when the pair met with Gus Van Sant about adapting Brokeback Mountain.

I'm not going to let Brad play Kurt. Love explained to Maron. “I go nuclear. I don't do Faust. Who the hell do you think you are?” After the meeting, Love says Norton has broken the news of her firing from the movie. "Hey [Norton] starts crying" Love said. "And he was like, I don't have the strength!" Love says Fincher called her to cut ties shortly thereafter.

If there's one thing love knows how to do, it's that she knows how to hold a grudge. According to Love, Pitt made several attempts to get approval for a biography of Kurt Cobain. Pitt's last attempt to pitch the idea occurred in 2020, which Love and her representatives denied.

"I don't know if I trust you and I don't know that your films are for profit." Perhaps thinking Pete might hear the show, Love told Maroon's audience. "They're really good social justice films, but if you don't understand me, you kind of don't understand Kurt, and I don't feel like you, Brad."

Would Courtney Love be good for the role of Marla in Venture? fight club? Should she and Pete bury the hatchet so Pete can shoot the Kurt Cobain biopic? Feel free to tell us in the comments below.
