BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA - Universal Music Australia has selected Sean Warner for the top position, which will be vacated by incumbent George Ashe at the end of the year.
Announced on Tuesday (13 December), Warner has been promoted to President of Universal Music Australia & New Zealand, effective 3 January. 1, 2023.
The incoming president is a UMA stalwart with 15 years of experience leading the company's business, both physical and digital.
Warner joined UMA in 2007 as National Sales Director and has worked on the senior management team in recent years, most recently as Senior Vice President Commercial, with duties for commercial growth, innovation and digital development for UMA and New Zealand.
During his time with Universal, Warner oversaw business strategy in Southeast Asia (SEA), launched Bravado merchandise and licensing interests on both sides of Tasman, and developed UMA's e-commerce activities.
Prior to joining the music major, Warner held senior positions at BMG Interactive, Sony PlayStation, DMX Music, and Foxtel. He also serves as chair of the AMTD fundraising committee for a music industry charitable organization Work support.

Longtime UMA leader Warner will succeed Ash, who, as I said beforHe plans to retire from his position at UMA.
Ash, who has led the company as president since 2010, tagged The end of the era in the Australian music industry when he announced his departure on Monday (12 December).
"It is time to step down from Universal," Ash said in a separate statement. "I feel confident that with the incredible leadership group we now have, the organization will continue to grow and thrive."
