Some of the artists nominated for Best New Artist this year may qualify again next year, though the hit makers listed below may go against one of the cardinal rules in this category. In the "Rules and Guidelines" handbook for the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, the first guideline under "Not Eligible" is "Any artist who has achieved significant achievement in a previous eligibility year." If you put a song on paintingThe Hot 100 at the end of the year doesn't constitute a "breakthrough," it's hard to tell what's going on.
