Some of my favorite gifts and purchases
best book: I read a lot of romance - I read some of my newest favorites this year, many of them on Kindle Unlimited (maybe another great gift idea): worst man And the in jam (both Kate Canterbury), anything But Hazelwood (Especially if the recipient likes really strong STEM heroines).
Best product for makeup/skincare/nail polishkisa: I think I got Guerlain meteorite About a year ago now - still one of my favorite 'must use before leaving home' types of purchases. It eliminates any shine, gently corrects color, and imparts a healthy glow from within. I'm amazed at how much I like it, to be honest. On a more expensive scale, I really like a new one Shark Dryer - My curly hair dries quickly.
Best pajamas/lounge/sports item: I now own two sets of Nordstrom Moonlight pajamas - They are very comfortable and wash well. We recommend.
Best kitchen item: On the smaller side: We're really popping our own popcorn right now and this Big air popper It's my favorite if you have the space - it never burns the beans! Infinitely Smaller: The Collapsible Microwave Compress* (but listen carefully). On the bigger side: We're enjoying our new newcomer Cuisinart toaster oven (Although I'm not sure it replaced the Ninja air fryer like I hope it did). (*Note that Exact collapsible popper We bought it out of stock now, but there are a lot of similar products out there; I've also heard great things about that spoiled chef.)
I prefer wine, beer or liquor: I got a bottle of Angel's Envy Rye and loved it - I also have to say our Shaker and Spoon subscription is one of the most fun gifts we've ever gotten ourselves.
(Here are the files Referral Code Shaker & Spoon If you'd like to get 50% off your first box...)
Best rechargeable gift basket, flower delivery, etc., that I've received:( If you've got any fruitcake lovers in your life, we just got my mom This fruit From Goldbelly - Recommend!)
Best pantry/shelf-stable food item (For example, fancy olive oil): A friend referred me to it Weak Knees Gochujang Sriracha, from Bushwick Kitchen - We've placed 3 or 4 orders over the past year. Tasty. We also love our Rancho Gordo Bean subscription, as do my in-laws!
Best household item (eg, blanket, Roomba): reader recommended This elegant happy light And I must say I really like him. Remote control and really stylish look.
Best restaurant meal or gift experience (please note the city): Le Colonial, Chicago (holiday)
Best Theatrical/Musical/Event Experience (please note the city): Ocean Floor, New York (closing soon)
(Looking back) - What gift(s) did you receive or buy yourself for graduation(s) that you adored?: boring gift, but I will always be grateful for the fact that when I graduated from college, my dad set up a joint Schwab account for me and gave me enough money to start investing. Otherwise (and/or My friend Suewho since my early twenties has been one of the most money-savvy people I know), I suspect I was as interested in investing as early as I did.
(Looking back) - What gift(s) did you receive or buy yourself for Christmas that was amazing?: I have no regrets about my Cartier or Mikimoto Pearls (both in 30th place). I don't remember anything in particular for my 40's, though (hmmm).
